No More Exclusives from Capcom

Further proving that the days of exclusive titles are numbered, Capcom has declared in its fiscal 2008 shareholder's report, "All major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as multi-platform games".

But wait, there is more, Capcom will be using their, "internal MT Framework technology, "an integrated development environment built to provide common development tools for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC platforms."

....So wait...The wii doesn't count as a Next generation console now, seriously capcom?

Devil May Cry 4 Demo/Game Coming To PC

PC users will be getting Devil May Cry 4 at some point in the summer with the PC version containing better graphics rendering and "additional content". It's not really known what that content is right now, but it sure is additional. You can bet your sister Sally on that one.

Ryizzel made a pretty good point to me, "Sounds kind of stupid to me, DMC4 is sort of...a console-styled title. PCs are all about RPGs and FPSs." I feel about the same way, except that I chose to word it more like "I don't think it would feel as responsive on the PC as it does on a console". If that makes any sense at all.

"Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the highly anticipated PC version of Devil May Cry® 4 is locked and loaded for release this summer. Devil May Cry 4 is already a certifiable hit in the console world, having shipped over 2 million units world wide since its release in North America in February. A demo of the game will be released for PC players before the retail version ships, allowing PC gamers to try the game ahead of time, as well as testing their system’s prowess with the included benchmark mode."

CAPCOM®'S DEVIL MAY CRY® 4 COMING TO PC THIS SUMMER
Demo With System Benchmark Mode Will Be Available Before the Game's Release

SAN MATEO, Calif — April 23, 2008 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that the highly anticipated PC version of Devil May Cry® 4 is locked and loaded for release this summer. Devil May Cry 4 is already a certifiable hit in the console world, having shipped over 2 million units world wide since its release in North America in February. A demo of the game will be released for PC players before the retail version ships, allowing PC gamers to try the game ahead of time, as well as testing their system’s prowess with the included benchmark mode. The PC version of Devil May Cry 4 will feature new modes, enhanced graphics options and some additional content. Devil May Cry 4 has been rated M for Mature by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.

Good things come to those who wait as PC owners will benefit from having more modes and more visual customization options to help enhance their demon-slaying action. Turbo mode will turn-up the action to insane speeds, while Legendary Dark Knight Mode will harness advanced PC processing power and fill the screen with an unbelievable number of enemies for extra difficulty. Moreover, familiar enemies from the console versions will show-up in new locations in the PC version. The high resolution screen settings allow the cut scenes of the game to run at up to 120 frames per second (up from 30 frames per second in the console version of the game). Slider options are available to manage various visual effects seen throughout the game. Devil May Cry 4 for the PC will have both DirectX® 9 and DirectX® 10 modes, and will also be compliant with the Games For Windows® program.

From the producer of the original Devil May Cry® and Resident Evil® 4 comes the next installment in the hugely successful stylized action series that has so far achieved global sales of nearly seven million units. Devil May Cry 4 immerses gamers in a gothic supernatural world, where a new protagonist clashes with a familiar hero. As the new leading man, Nero, players will unleash incredible attacks and non-stop combos using a unique new gameplay mechanic: the powerful “Devil Bringer” on his right arm.

Capcom Aquires Tenchu Devs

Over the weekend Capcom acquired K2 Studios, known for their work on the recent atrocity known as Tenchu Z and Valhalla Knights. K2 is also aiding SNK in making the latest Samurai Showdown game.

The purchase was made through an exchange of stock, which should be completed May 1st. The purpose of the exchange was apparently to help make Capcom's "game development activities more efficient and speedy." Could this mean that Capcom plans to breathe new life into the dying Tenchu series, or maybe they are just adding more hands to their development team.

Resident Evil 5 Footage

Wow, two video posts in a row. I'm sorry guys, I'll actually write something for the next one. This video apparently is from the bonus DVD from the latest issue of Famitsu and it's making of footage, and actual gameplay footage of Resident Evil 5.

Voices are all in Japanese, so you'll have to just look at the pretty pictures (boy are they pretty).

Resident Evil Zero On the Wii?

This is one of those announcements that makes me go "lol whud?". Capcom has confirmed that there will be a Resident Evil Zero remake for the Wii, with the "Wii's motion sensor controls in mind".

Whatever they mean by that eludes me because from the screen shots it seems like the game will be kept in traditional form. Which would make the Wiimote fairly difficult to use with much ease. Though Capcom did mention that a "traditional" style will be available to use as well.

I'm also not sure why they're even doing a remake of Zero, it was released on the Gamecube, which is perfectly playable on the Wii still. I'm sure Resi fans will be happy about this one, heck I'm even kind of excited to see what they do with it.

Devil May Cry 4 Demo Coming Straight From Hell

Congratulations Xbox Live and Playstation Network users, the Devil May Cry 4 demo is finally going to be up for download on Thursday, January 24th...

The demo introduces gamers to the gothic-inspired supernatural world of Devil May Cry 4, new protagonist Nero and the awesome power of his Devil Bringer. The demo consists of a sampling of sections from the full game, chosen to showcase Devil May Cry 4’s varied locales and allows gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero’s unique abilities. Players will receive instruction on the various new actions that the Devil Bringer bestows, such as the ability to slam creatures to the ground, cover great distances in a single bound or even grab enemies while on the ground or in the air and pull them towards Nero to continue the attack combo. The Exceed system allows Nero to “rev up” his sword as if it were a motorbike throttle and unleash devastating attacks. Players will need to master all these techniques before the end of demo showdown with the mighty Berial.

Sounds like it'll be fun, thought I'm not sure how fans of the Devil May Cry series will feel about an all new white haired main character. If Nero ends up being a knock-off of Dante, I know that I'll be upset about that.

Also if you're wondering what the mysterious Berial boss looks like, check out his picture over here. He looks like a centaur mixed with Ifrit and dipped in a cauldron of fire. Oh, and a beard to rival the members from ZZ Top.

BYAH!!!!!!!

Sweeeeeeet First post!

Its no secret that I am a huge Phoenix Wright fanboy. Nothing fills my heart with joy more than shouting "HOLD IT" at my DS in the middle of the night, waking my parents. So imagine my joy....and my parents dismay when Capcom announced the release date of the next installment in the Ace Attorney series.

Woot!

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Debuts in America on February 12. This is the first game in the series made specifically for the DS, making better use of the DS's Touch screen and and built in Microphone.

I hope the this game keeps up with the kick-ass story and humor that I've grown to love over the years.

(edit-There is a Fan Translated demo out.....Only the first few lines are done...http://gs4.isamedia.org/play.html)
