Guitar Hero: On Tour Track List Announced

The latest Guitar Hero track list has been announced; Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS of course!

What? You didn't know about the DS version? Well that's because we completely forgot to write about it for you poor reader, we'll make it up to you by actually telling you the track list! Isn't that nice?

Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS features 15 -announced- tracks of 25 that Activision previously claimed were in the game, the rest will either be unlock able or download able(maybe). See the list after this convenient break.

The Guitar Hero and the Rock Band Get New Guitars (and Mics)

The Ant Commandos, a leading gaming accessory producer, mainly Guitar Hero trinkets and guitars has announced today that they've got a brand spanking new line-up that will be compatible with both Guitar Hero and Rock Band on the Playstation 2 and Playstation 3. Sorry 360 owners, TAC seems to have forgotten you this time.

Best part of the press release in my opinion? The following statement:

"The new lineup includes the first-ever guitar controllers to offer 4-in-1 compatibility, with all of its new
guitars being 100% compatible with all Guitar Hero and Rock Band games for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3."

If that means what I think it means, that solves Sony-users' problems involving Guitar Hero 1 and 2 on the PS2 and trying to play them on the PS3. Freaking awesome TAC!

Gibson files Lawsuits Against......Everyone....

It seems anyone who is even vaguely associated with the Guitar Hero franchise is unsafe from Gibson's fierce lawyers; Gibson is filing lawsuits against Harmonix, Viacom, and EA for violating their patent for a device on which "a musician can simulate participation in a concert by playing a musical instrument and wearing a head-mounted 3D display that includes stereo speakers."

In addition, Gibson is also suing any major retailers selling Guitar Hero games, which includes Gamestop, Kmart, Target and Walmart. However, in the heat of all this legal action, Gibson has neglected to file a lawsuit against Activision, the developer of Guitar Hero III.

I have one question for Gibson however, why not sue konami? I mean...they made GuitarFreaks. Its not like GuitarFreaks has been out since the days of the PSX or anything, right?

Two Free DLC Announcements.

This one's a quickie just to let you all know about two of newest Downloadable Contents coming to both the PSN and Xbox Live.

First of all there's Guitar Hero 3; jump on the PSN or Xbox Live today and grab the FREE 3 song track pack featuring the hits "Famous for Nothing", "Flannigan's Ball", and "Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya" by the Dropkick Murphy's, just in time for Saint Pattie's Day.

Then secondly there's an announcement for a big DLC for Burnout Paradise. What's known about this one is we'll be getting a new set of islands, and possibly a new vehicle, and it's free so Burnout users...don't pass this one up.

Devil's Got A New Disguise For Guitar Hero

The next game in the Guitar Hero series has been confirmed by Activision, and this time we're getting specific. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will feature one band, you guessed it, the drugged up 80's band Aerosmith.

To market for the next sequel in the ever-bloating Guitar Hero franchise, users of both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network could download a free Guitar Hero 3 song "Dream On" over the weekend.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is set to hit the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, and the Nintendo Wii.

With a GH game being based solely on one band you may want to be a fanatic before you pick up a copy of it, but maybe they're working towards a new direction for the franchise. Another money-whoring direction, but a new direction nonetheless.

I mean, I love Aerosmith just as much as any other foot shuffling, lighter swaying, eighties head out there. They're one of my favorite bands from that time period, but I can say with much confidence that I would not fancy playing through a whole game dependent on their song listings. Maybe that's just me though, how does everyone else feel about this?
