On April 1st, a video appeared on the internet showing MGS4's Snake wearing Altair's clothing from Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. Originally dismissed it as an April Fools Shenanigan, it seems this footage has become a reality.
Today Kojima confirmed that players will be able to unlock the costume in MGS4, however no details were given on how to get the costume were revealed.

For all you unlucky souls that didn't get into Metal Gear Online Beta, *cough*Undrallio*cough*, there is still hope to get in....no wait, never mind!
Last week, a clever user over at the GameTrailers Forums by the name of shhhoff composed a guide on how to navigate Konami's Japanese website in order to get a MGO beta key.
Unfortunately however, Konami has issued an official GTFO to anyone who has used this back-door method.

As we rapidly approach Metal Gear Solid 4's June 12th release, details about the game's limited edition US version are revealed. Gamestop/Ebgames employee and NeoGAF forum member Kagari has been quoted:
"The limited edition will retail for $84.99 and include the following:
A Blu-ray containing
2 making of documentaries, and interview with Kojima
4 chapters of the graphic novel
Metal Gear Import Soundtrack CD
Reserves for the limited edition will also get an exlusive Metal Gear Solid 4 artbook at time of purchase."
Today Konami confirmed that June 12 is indeed the release date for its upcoming hit, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This comes as a bit of a shock, after Sony distanced itself from that date just yesterday.
Also confirmed, was the Pre-order program, which gives anyone who Pre-orders MGS4 a DVD entitled Metal Gear Saga 2.0 (a refresher on the past 8 games in the series)and a beta code for Metal Gear Online.

Konami has confirmed that a collection of the Metal Gear Solid series will be released as a build up for Metal Gear Solid 4 which will be coming out for the Ps3 in Q2 of the year.
Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection is to feature MGS1 for Ps1 and the Director Cuts of both MGS2 and MGS3. The whole she-bang will retail at 29.99, a delightfully cheap price for about 40-50 hours of gaming.
As of yet a release date hasn't been set, or at least not that I've heard of. However, Amazon.com has the set available for pre-order with a shipping date of March 18th, 2008.
The collection seems to be ideal for those who are interested in MGS4 but are new to the series. I wish I had heard about this one earlier though, I just picked up MGS2 after finding my old copy of MGS1, so all I have left to get is Snake Eater. Needless to say I'll be passing on this one.
