Mirror's Edge Leaps Onto Store Shelves November 11th

Mirror's Edge, DICE's new anticipated and heavily talked about first-person parkour game has just recieved a final, offical release date. The game will be available at retail stores on November 11th for the PS3 and Xbox 360, while the PC users will have to wait until this "winter".

DICE also said that they'll be giving gamers a little taste for the game with a downloadable demo for PS3/360 in the near future, and a special treat for people who preorder with certain retailers in the form of a code that unlocks Time Trial mode for the demo.

While that perk sounds interesting, it's definitely not the best preorder gift that's been handed out, and once that game is in your hands it should feel pretty chincy. But what's a gamer gonna do?

Echochrome Released Tomorrow

Following the release of the demo last Thursday, Echochrome will be available for download on the Playstation Store tomorrow in North America. The 3d Puzzler will set you back 9.99 and features 56 levels unique to each platform.

Judging by the demo, this game is pretty fun...if only I could get past stage 3 on the demo.

Next Prince of Persia Game to Come out Holiday Season

It seems this holiday Ubisoft will be blessing us with another Prince of Persia game, which will appear on the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.

The game is currently being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, who made Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the more recent Assassin's Creed.

Many are speculating the game's title will be "Prince of Persia Prodigy," after the creator of the series filed the name for a trademark.

Paradise Patch v1.2 Date Announced

According to TeamXbox Burnout Paradise's Patch v1.2 (which you can read about in my previous article here) is now known as codename Bogart, and has a release date of April 24th.

[UPDATE] Alright, it's all good, Criterion put up a post with a cool little countdown timer too. Here's the link. [/UPDATE]

However when I went to Burnout Paradise's main site, I found nothing about the release date anywhere. So I'm attempting to get in touch with them to confirm. Until then, let's hold that date tentatively.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Dated

Here comes the newest Star Wars game from LucasArts, it's going to be for the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, and finally the Xbox 360. If they managed to throw it on the PC that'd cover every system that's in circulation right now. Expect to see it show up on September 16th in the States.

LucasArts has announced that its physics-based jedi sim, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, will arrive on September 16th in the United States, September 17th in Southeast Asia and Australia, and September 19th in Europe. That’s the plan and, given our anticipation for the title, we can only pray the publisher doesn’t alter it any further.

Hazy Release date

Remember yesterday when I said Haze was going to be released May 22nd? Well, this morning Ubisoft changed Haze's "official" release date back a vague "sometime in May."

It also seems that the exclusivity of Haze is... hazy as well. Free Radical continues to develop the game for the both the 360 and PC, while Ubisoft remains silent about a multiplatform release.

SOCOM: Confrontation Release Date

SOCOM: Confrontation, which I did a nice and mildy-lengthy preview of sorts right here, finally got a release date and it sounds like it's aiming at September 16th, 2008.

I'm hoping they don't try and rush it if they're not completely done and use the infamous claim "We'll just patch it." Seriously guys, let's git r done.

Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out June 12

Today Konami confirmed that June 12 is indeed the release date for its upcoming hit, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This comes as a bit of a shock, after Sony distanced itself from that date just yesterday.

Also confirmed, was the Pre-order program, which gives anyone who Pre-orders MGS4 a DVD entitled Metal Gear Saga 2.0 (a refresher on the past 8 games in the series)and a beta code for Metal Gear Online.
