EA's Monopoly Comes Forth

In a collaboration between EA's casual division and Hasbro Entertainment Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, mobile phones and Pogo.com all will be receiving Mr. Monopoly as their gracious guest. EA is developing a Monopoly game with "a fresh take on the timeless classic with accessible gameplay for players of all ages and skill levels."

It sounds like the game will be marketed as a party game with new things like mini-games based off of getting out of jail.

Chance! Your mother bakes you a cake while you're in jail, there's a file in it. Get out of jail free during someone else's turn so no one pays attention.

EA's Casual Vice President had this to say “EA is taking Monopoly's core gameplay and bringing it to life in a way never before imagined. With this dynamic take on Hasbro’s classic board game, we’ve accelerated the pace of play, added new interactive mini-game sequences and integrated multi-player moments designed to make Monopoly a non-stop party for the whole family.”

No longer shall Monopoly be a game marketed at PC users or as a board game for when the power goes out.
