Rumor: Comic Book Movie Producer Buys Rights to Mass Effect Movie

Hey, y'know Avi Arad, the guy who produced all those awesome movies based on comic books? Well it seems there is a rumor going claiming he has acquired the movie rights to Bioware's Space opera, Mass Effect.

If this rumor proves to be true Arad, (whose company is also working on the upcoming Lost planet movie) will have to find a director, screenwriter and some stars for the movie.

...They should totally make Shia Labeouf play as Commander Shepard.

Screenshots of GTAIV's multiplayer

Xboxworld.nl, a Dutch gaming site posted what appears to be screens of GTA IV's multiplayer mode, but pulled them for an unknown reason. Funny thing is, they forgot the golden rule of the internet, nothing ever gets permanently deleted from the internet.

I remain skeptical that these shots are actually really, it seems really suspicious that they would post the them, only to instantly take them down. Any idiot with photoshop can and put some dots and names over a character's head.

GoW Chainsaw Dueling Rumor

Remember when Gears of War first came out? People praised it for it's beautiful visuals and fun gameplay. I only cared for one thing however, killing every enemy I encountered with my chainsaw bayonet. The Lancer Assault Rifle has to be the coolest weapon in gaming history. The only problem was that it was bit unbalanced (like Halo's energy sword) in online matches. This problem may be fixed in the upcoming sequel, according to a Variety blogger who claims to have spoken with two people who are close to the development team at Epic.

I was talking to two people last night who are close enough to the development team at Epic to know and they confirmed for me that this will be a mechanic in the game: When somebody tries to chainsaw you, there will be a way to push back with your own chainsaw gun and potentially fend them off or, possibly, end up chopping them into a bloody pile of flesh chunks.

If this is true, I hope it doesnt turn into some shitty button mashing minigame.

It prints money!

Sorry for the tired joke in the title....but I couldn't resist.

Nintendo's much anticipated fighting game, Super Smash Bros Brawl has been released this week in Japan. According a Japanese blogger by the name of Sinobi, Super Smash Bros Brawl sold 500,000 units on its opening day. If this is indeed true, SSBM outsold every other game released this week in Japan. This also means that SSBM sold double what Super Mario Galaxy sold in it's opening week.

On a much different note, I'd like to share this with you guys.

Best. Fanfic. EVER!

Wtf Sony?

Another rumor is floating around the internet, apparently Sony is planning on releasing another model of the Ps3 in America, the 120gig. This comes after the news of Sony discontinuing the 80 gig model and only supporting the 40 gig.

The 120 gig is rumored to come packaged with a DualShock 3 controller (Yay rumble!) and be priced at 499.99. Sony has yet to confirm this, though they have made a comment stating it had no plans to release the new model in the UK. Seems like the UK is always getting the shaft from Sony.

In my opinion, SCEA needs to pick a model and just stay with it. I'm beginning to lose count of all the different models.
